Policy Information

Payment Policy

50% of tour fees will be due within 48 hours following confirmation of booking. This deposit can be made via Paypal. A link will be sent in your booking confirmation email. The remainder of payment is due the day of your scheduled tour and will be collected before your tour begins. Both cash (JPY) and Paypal are accepted.

If your deposit is not received within 48 hours, a reminder email will be sent. If payment is still not received in the next 24 hours, your booking slot will be forfeited.

Cancellation Policy

Tours canceled at least 30 days in advance will receive a full refund. Cancellations at least 48 hours in advance will have 50% of the initial deposit refunded. Tours canceled less than 48 hours in advance will not be refunded.

If for any reason Tanuki Tabi Travel cancels a tour or postpones it to a time that is inconvenient for you, you will receive a full refund.

Inclement Weather Policy

In case of inclement weather such as a typhoon resulting in major train delays, customers will be notified of a tours’ cancellation or postponement via email. If for any reason Tanuki Tabi Travel cancels a tour or postpones it to a time that is inconvenient for you, you will receive a full refund.

Overtime Policy

While most tours will be scheduled during our regular working hours (10:00-20:00), custom tours that extend later into the evening or start early in the morning will be charged an overtime fee of 1,000 yen per hour. This fee is only applicable to the hours outside our standard hours, not the entire duration of the tour. E.g. A custom tour from 8:00-12:00 will cost 9,000 yen * 2 hours + 8,000 yen * 2 hours for a total cost of 34,000 yen.

Someone from Tanuki Tabi Travel will email you shortly regarding your inquiry. Due to time zone differences, response times can be up to 24 hours. Thank you for your patience.

Transportion Policies

At present, due to government regulations we cannot offer chauffeuring services. All private tours proposed by Tanuki Tabi Travel will be walking tours with brief transport via train. Train fare is not included in tour prices at this time.

Pick-up and Drop-off Policies

Pick-up and drop-off from hotels or airports can be appended to our tours. Simply request a pick-up or drop-off when booking. Please note there will be an additional fee to cover our guides’ transportation expenses and travel time.

Attractions, Taxis and Other Reservations Policy

Unfortunately, due to government regulations we cannot make reservations with third parties for our visitors at this time. Guests who would like to see a paid attraction, reserve a restaurant, or schedule a taxi must do so themselves. Tanuki Tabi Travel can however offer detailed explanations on how to navigate Japanese websites as well as recommend reputable services. While we can’t do it for you, we’re here to help you through it.

Please note that any and all additional fees for these products or services are not included in tour prices at this time.
